At 15:28 p.m. on July 14, 2022, 1×60MW unit boiler of OBI Nickel-Cobalt High-Pressure Acid Leaching Project Phase II Power Generation Project passed the hydraulic test at a time, indicating the successful completion of the important milestone work of the boiler body in the project!

 

Strive for new achievements by crossing levels and seizing passes

 

Boiler hydraulic test is an important milestone in unit construction, which is the strength and sealing test conducted with high pressure water after boiler assembly. The completion of this construction progress marks the complete completion of the main installation work of the boiler equipment, laying a solid foundation for subsequent work such as boiler masonry, acid cleaning, pipe blowing, etc.

 

 

In order to ensure the smooth completion of the boiler water pressure test for the unit, personnel from all parties in the power plant organized and deployed in advance, and relevant departments cooperated and collaborated with each other. Based on the actual situation of the expanded unit, a practical and feasible boiler water pressure test plan was developed. They overcame the impact of many unfavorable factors such as limited construction personnel, delayed equipment delivery, small construction sites, frequent rainfall in rainy season in Indonesia, and insufficient construction equipment under the epidemic, etc. They worked together to deal with each challenge, jointly promote the progress of the construction, overcome one difficulty after another in the installation of the heated surface, solve one problem after another in the lifting of the heated surface, and finally passed the hydraulic test successfully.

 

Many small victories add up to a big one.

 

The test was carried out completely by Indonesian third-party professionals in the whole process under relatively strict Indonesian quality acceptance standards and with the 1.5x pressure testing method. During the test, there were a total of 6,104 welded joints involved. Professional personnel inspected all pressure bearing components and valves for zero leakage, and whether the pressure bearing components were deformed. Although the hydraulic test was conducted under high standards, we still passed the test at a time.

 

 

In the construction period, the employer, the supervisor, the construction contractor, and the project leader of the construction management department strictly formulated a three-level network construction schedule. Taking into account the characteristics of a small number of construction personnel and relatively inexperienced sub-project management personnel on the construction site, they strictly controlled the construction process. They persisted, adhered to a step-by-step inspection method, prevented rework and missed work, effectively ensured construction quality, and achieved great victory from one small victory after another.
